Rome man arrested for distribution of untaxed cigarettes

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - A month-long investigation by New York State Police led to the arrest of a Rome man Saturday for charges relating to the possession and distribution of untaxed tobacco products.

On Saturday, State Police pulled over 54-year-old David J. Nadeau, He was found to be in the possession of more than 100 cartons of untaxed cigarettes and a small amount of money.

Police say Nadeau was taken into custody and charged with possessing in excess of 10,000 untaxed cigarettes.

Nadeau allegedly engaged in the possession, distribution and sale of untaxed cigarettes in and around the Rome area for the past year.
