Rome man hospitalized following two-car accident

ROME, NY (WKTV) - A 76-year-old Rome man has been hospitalized following a two-car accident in Rome.

The collision took place at the intersection of Williams Rd. and Turin Rd. just after 8:30p.m. Friday.

Frederick A. Norman, 76, Rome, was stopped in traffic waiting to make a left turn. Nicole M. Blair, 24, Rome, was traveling south, behind Norman's vehicle. Blair's car struck the rear passenger side of Norman's vehicle, forcing him off the roadway onto a lawn on the east side of the road.

Blair's car sustained heavy front end damage from the collision.

Norman was transported to Rome Memorial Hospital. As off 11:30p.m. Friday, he was still being evaluated.

Blair was issued a ticket for following too closely and failing to reduce speed at a hill, curve or grade.
