(WKTV) - A Rome-grown man is bringing it back to the community he grew up in -- in more ways than one.
Rob Beasley, president of Jilcat Industrial Marketing, says he has plans to move back to Rome. And he's promoting the city so other businesses follow suit. Jilcat has joined forces with Fan Force United on the Indy Racing Circuit and for the rest of the racing season, the Cooper Tires Indy Lights Dallara will rock "Positively Rome" and "Rome Chamber" decals. The car will be in the Poconos to race this weekend.
"You'll see the Positively Rome and Rome Chamber of Commerce," Beasley said. "It's our intention to get some interns that are in their senior year to take it around the country and promote Rome and talk about it from a younger person's aspect."
Beasley says there are also plans to bring 40 soapbox cars to the City of Rome for students to work on to hone their skills in science, technology, engineering and math.
