ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - The 3rd Annual Avon Preview Walk for Breast Cancer took place in the streets of Rome, Saturday.
Over 100 people participated in the event, to raise money for Breast Cancer research.
The event contained both a 5-mile and 10-mile walk, in preparation for the big Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, that takes place in New York City every October.
Walkers were required to contribute $20 to the event, to go towards the Avon Foundation for Breast Cancer.
"Cancer touches everyone through families," said John Mazzaferro, a participant in the walk. "It's there so people come out and support their loved ones."

Mazzaferro's wife was the organizer of the event, and hoped to raise nearly $4,000 with the walk.
