Rome teen charged in connection to residential burglary

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Rome teen recently released from jail on unrelated charges has been charged in connection to a residential burglary in the city on Tuesday night.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, a patrol responded to Rome Oriskany Road in the City of Rome for a burglary complaint around 7 p.m. Tuesday night.

Brandon S. Steates, 17, of Rome was charged with second-degree burglary. He is accused of entering the a residence and taking an undisclosed amount of cash.

Steates was arraigned Rome City Court and sent Oneida County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail. He is due back in court at a later date.

Authorities said he had just been released from Oneida County Jail on 10-19-12 for an unrelated incident.
