(WKTV) - A Rome woman is accused of leaving three young children home alone, New York State Police said.

Leah J. Internicola, 30, of the 6000 block of Williams Road in Rome, is charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree.

According to authorities, information was received that Internicola may have left three children, ages 3, 2 and 1, alone in her home. Troopers made forced entry to her home and located the three in what troopers call deplorable conditions. Officials determined the children had been left alone for nearly 19 hours. A quantity of marijuana was also located in the home, authorities say.

Internicola was arraigned in the Town of Lee Court and sent to Oneida County Jail. Bail was set at $500 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond.

Oneida County Child Protective Services assisted state police at the scene.
