Rome woman sentenced in crash that killed Oriskany man

(WKTV) - A Rome woman who pleaded guilty in December in connection with a crash that killed an Oriskany man was sentenced Wednesday to six to 12 years in prison.

Grace Pirillo was driving on North Elmer Hill Road in the Town of Western on Oct. 19 when she lost control of her vehicle, crashing into a residence. Her passenger, Mark Salerno, 53, of Oriskany was taken to Upstate Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

Piriillo pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter in the first degree and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in December.
