Ronald Mancuso pleads guilty in Syracuse parking meter thefts

By JOLEEN FERRIS

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - He's the fourth person in his family to plead guilty to or be convicted of a felony in the past year.

Ronald Mancuso pleaded guilty on Thursday in Oneida County Court to criminal possession of stolen property in the third-degree.

He's accused of being in possession of money from Syracuse-area parking meters.  He was charged in Utica because that's where authorities found him in possession of the cash. Mancuso has turned roughly $300,000 over to federal authorities.

Thursday in court, Mancuso drew snickers from the gallery when he told the judge he studied criminal justice in college.

In exchange for his guilty plea, Mancuso is expected to be sentenced next month to no more than six months in the Oneida County Jail.

Mancuso's two brothers, Steven and Paul, and his father, Lester, were convicted in Federal Court in Syracuse this time last year in connection with an illegal asbestos removal scam.
