Salsa dancing in New Hartford draws a crowd

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - A dance event attracted a large crowd at the New Hartford High School gym Friday night.

Students, parents and staff attended the Community Salsa Dance where they learned about the Hispanic culture through dance.

The event was hosted by the school's World Language Club. It featured salsa music with a twist of African music.

Event organizers said they were hoping to expand the horizons of their students and help them learn about other cultures.

"At New Hartford, we don't just teach grammar," said Rebecca Hill who attended the event. "But, we also teach a lot of culture, which is part of the language."
