By WKTV News

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - Days after devastating waters flooded areas of Herkimer, Mohawk and the City of Oneida, the Salvation Army continues to provide food, water, clean up kits and spiritual support to flood survivors.

With four mobile feeding units in Herkimer and Mohawk and one in Oneida, volunteers have provided more than 8,600 meals, 1,000 snacks, and 14,000 drinks.

They've also given out close to 2,000 cleaning supply kits.

They say they've offered prayers and emotional support to at least 500 people.

As of Tuesday afternoon, officials at the Salvation Army say early estimates from Herkimer County indicate over 2,500 structures sustained damage and 215 structures in the City of Oneida.
