School officials: Get out and vote in Ilion and Mohawk tomorrow

(WKTV) - The binding vote for the Ilion-Mohawk school merger is taking place Tuesday from noon until 8pm.

It's the third vote, but school officials want to stress, this is the binding vote, not a straw vote.

If approved, the Ilion-Mohawk combined district would place an elementary school in each district, a middle school in Mohawk and Ilion High School would become the high school.

The merger would bring in an estimated $42 million dollars in incentive aid spread out over a certain time period.

Both superintendents are urging everyone in their district to get out and vote so that the entire community is behind the decision.

Polling locations will be at both Ilion High School and Mohawk's Jarvis Junior- Senior High.
