Schuyler Mercy Flight suspended until further notice

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - The emergency transportation service Mercy Flight, which just set up shop in Schuyler in March, has closed.

The company says service is suspended until further notice as part of a corporate restructuring.

“We are committed to the delivery of critical care services to the Mohawk Valley Region and will
continue to support this region from our base locations in Marcellus and Canandaigua," said Erin Van Zummeren, Mercy Flight central program director. "Our plan is to evaluate options to provide more localized coverage during this suspension.”

Mercy Flight is an air transport service for critically injured patients and is based in Rochester. It costs about $17,000 every time the helicopter makes a trip.TRIP.
