Dolgeville Fire Department battles two fires Tuesday

(WKTV) - The Dolgeville Fire Department was called to two fires within a three-hour period on Tuesday.

A log cabin burned to the ground at 341 Fish Road around 3 p.m. No one was home at the time.

The Dolgeville fire chief says the bitter cold and wind chill can't stop them from doing their job.

"It's awfully cold," said Fire Chief Randy Tennant. "We bite our tongue and come out and do it."

Around noon today, the department battled a garage fire on Rocket Road. No one was injured.

The cause of both fires is under investigation.

A fund has been set up for the fire victims. To help the family send donations to
