Sherburne man accused of stealing funds from state labor department

(WKTV) - A Sherburne man faces charges after he allegedly stole more than $9,000 from the New York State Department of Labor, New York State Police said.

Todd E. Stockton, 53, of Sherburne, is charged with grand larceny and falsifying business records.

According to authorities, Stockton's Wednesday arrest came after an investigation launched by the New York State Department of Labor. Stockton allegedly had $9,261 in false insurance benefits from the labor department mailed to his home on North Main Street in the Village of Sherburne.

Stockton will return to Village of Sherburne Court on Aug. 14.
