(WKTV) - A brief police chase lead to three Sherburne residents' arrest for drug-related offenses, Chenango County Sheriff's Office said.
Steven A. Manwarren, 46, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree. Randy R. Buck Jr., 27, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and tampering with physical evidence. Kim M.Chlad, 56, is charged with tampering with physical evidence.
According to officials, the narcotics division attempted to stop Manwarren, on Casey Road in Sherburne on Friday. Manwarren then went westbound on Bingham Collins road in an effort to elude police, officials say. During the pursuit, a passenger, Buck, is alleged to have thrown 27 heroin packets out of the window. The vehicle was eventually stopped, the heroin was recovered and both men were arrested.
The sheriff's office said while continuing the investigation, another 60 packs of heroin allegedly belonging to Manwarren were recovered. Chlad was arrested as she allegedly attempted to throw out the heroin packets from her and Manwarren's home.
