Herkimer County Sheriff Christopher Farber is running for the 101st NY State Assembly District.

Farber, a former Little Falls judge could run against incumbent Claudia Tenney.

If Tenney loses the U.S.Congressional primary against Incumbent Congressman Richard Hanna on June 24th, she could potentially square off with Farber in the state primary.

Farber says he plans to run for the Republican party in the primary in September.

Tenney has said that until the Congressional primary results are in later this month, she sees no need to decide an whether or not she'll run for the office she now holds.

A third candidate, Matt Watkins, also plans to run in the Assembly primary, and has received the nod from the Ulster County Republican Party.

Watkins is a member of Tenney's Assembly staff.
