One injured in Sherman Drive accident in Utica
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Rescue crews responded to an accident near the Memorial Parkway in Utica just after 11 a.m. Thursday.
Crews responded to Sherman Drive, where Utica Police said a pick-up truck went up onto a curb, struck a utility pole, and landed on its side against wires. The driver of the truck, Richard Temple, was stuck inside the vehicle was stuck inside and had to be extricated by rescue crews. That person was taken away by ambulance. Part of the road on Sherman Drive was shut down as rescuers worked to clear the scene. If power lines ever fall on your car, UPD Sgt Steve Hauck is reminding drivers to stay inside your vehicle. If you come upon someone that is trapped, Sgt Hauck says not to approach the car, just to call 911. |
