Sherrill man sentenced for assaulting postal carrier

SHERRILL, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Sherrill man has been sentenced in Federal court after pleading guilty to assaulting a postal carrier in March.

According to the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District , Emmanuel C. Clothakis Jr, 57, of Sherrill was sentenced Thursday to serve a 41 month term of imprisonment and three years of supervised release following his guilty plea to an assault on a U.S. Postal letter carrier in the City of
Oneida on March 19, 2011.

Clothakis pled guilty to punching the letter carrier in the face as he
delivered mail to the Access Federal Credit Union in the City of Oneida, New York.

The letter carrier sustained a fractured nose as the result of the assault.
