Shoppers find bargains at town-wide garage sale
By LEXIE O'CONNOR

DEERFIELD, N.Y. (WKTV) - Many bargain hunters were out and about Deerfield Wednesday for their 20th annual town wide garage sale.

"I found some really nice stuff, I just bought, my son brought for me this beautiful pink dish, don't know what I'm going to do it with it but it was so pretty," said Mary Raymond in from Verona for the garage sales.

With antiques, tools, dish wear and more, many people hosted their sales on the day for everyone who's out looking for a bargain.

"We were going to BJ's to go shopping and we haven't gotten there yet, we've been going since 10 o'clock this morning," said Raymond.

Many sellers said they got just as much enjoyment out of the sales as the buyers.

"You meet people from all over and not only from the area, but they come from New England, where I'm from, other parts of the state, and we just compare notes and they met other people here and it's amazing," said Virginia Loin hosting a garage sale.

Many sales were also put on for charity. Stacy Scott-Weber hosted one at her house with fellow co-workers to raise money for the Making Strides for Breast Cancer Walk. like this one, where proceeds will go towards the making strides for breast cancer walk.

"We do the walk every year and you know we've done bake sales at work going through the hospital we do raffles but this time we wanted to raise money earlier," said Scott-Weber who works in the imaging center at Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare.

"There's something for everybody, someone else's junk is someone else's treasure," said Raymond.
