Six injured in two-vehicle accident in Clinton

(WKTV) - Six people were injured in a two-vehicle accident Monday morning on State Route 12B in Clinton, the Town of Kirkland police said.

According to authorities, about 11:45 a.m. Monday Mary Howlett, 73, of Oriskany Falls, was pulling out of the McDonald's parking lot and was struck by a van driven by Michael Dougherty, 67, of Clinton. Five passengers in the van were transported to St. Luke's hospital, all with non life-threatening injuries. Howlett was also transported to St. Luke's with shoulder and back injuries. Those in the van who were injured were Mary Ann Dougherty, 67, with chest pains; Isabella Mannwarren, 7, with right arm and chest pain, Sherri Mannwarren, 44, with back pain, Angelina Mannwarren, 10, with nose pain and Kaleb Helmer, 4, with shoulder pain.

Both vehicles were heavily damaged and had to be towed from the scene, authorities said. The investigation into the accident is continuing.
