Six months in, Little Falls seeing savings with new trash pick-up plan

LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - The mayor of Little Falls says the city is still on track to save hundreds of thousands of dollars in garbage fees thanks to a new pickup plan.

Mayor Robert Peters says that since the city has taken over trash pick-up, they have continued to save. According to Mayor Peters, the city was paying a private company $37,000 per month to do the job.

However, in the six months the city took over, Peters says they've already seen a savings.

Mayor Peters says the next goal is to create more revenue for the city by contracting with businesses or even another municipality to have their garbage picked up as well.
