Snow emergencies issued throughout area

(WKTV) - Snow emergencies have been issued throughout the area.

A snow emergency has been declared for the City of Utica, effective at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Mayor Robert Palmieri said.

A snow emergency for the Village of Whitesboro has been declared effective at 9 p.m. Wednesday.

A snow emergency for the Village of Ilion has been issued effective at 10 p.m. Wednesday.

The City of Rome is asking all parked cars be removed from the streets by 10 p.m. Wednesday.

A snow emergency for the City of Oneonta has been issued effective at 8 p.m. Wednesday through 10 a.m. Thursday. A travel adcisory for the city is also in effect.

Under a snow emergency, all vehicles left on city roads are subject to ticketing and towing at the owner's expense. The roads need to be cleared so snow removal and emergency services may pass.
