MARTINSBURG, N.Y. (WKTV) - Three people were injured Tuesday night, one seriously injured, after a snowmobile accident.

The Lewis County Sheriff's Department says 39-year-old Michael Maczynski, of New Jersey, was driving south on Graves Road in the Town of Martinsburg.

Deputies say Maczynski passed a northbound trail groomer driven by Dallen Farney, 22, of Lowville.

Farney was diving behind his brother, Cody Farney, 21.

Deputies say Maczynksi was unable to get around, and struck the blade of the groomer.

He was treated at the scene by Lewis County Search and Rescue and Martinsburg Fire Department, then airlifted to Burlington, VT.
