Some local deal hunters shop til they drop, others rest up for more shopping

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Black Friday rush seems to be operating at a peaceful pace locally. In Sangertown Square, shoppers enjoyed friends and family while checking out the deals.

Retailers opening on Thursday may have actually taken the pressure off the door buster mad rush.

This year, from what our crews saw, everything was organized, with retailers handing out vouchers for items that weren't in stock.

Because big box stores moved to open Thanksgiving night at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., some shoppers got a two for one. They shopped Thursday night, got some rest and got out to shop again.

Others, are shopping until they drop.

We found one shopper who started at 4 p.m. Thursday, shopped all night, and was still shopping Friday afternoon.

She'll have turkey later in the evening on Friday!
