Special doughnut to help grant sick children's wishes

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - Tuesday marked World Wish Day, a day to celebrate and grant wishes for children with life-threatening diseases.

That's long been the mission of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which started in 1985. And Dunkin Donuts is making it easy to help grant wishes for local children.

Anyone who makes a $1 donation will get a Make-A-Wish Star doughnut, with all proceeds benefiting the Central New York Chapter of Make-A-Wish. Last year, the doughnut campaign raised about $40,000.

Christine Corbett of Make a Wish Central New York says the organization gives kids a chance to not worry about treatments and doctor's visits.

You can purchase the special doughnut and donate to Make-A-Wish CNY from now until May 7 at participating Dunkin Donuts locations.
