St. Elizabeth's golf tournament draws more than 220 golfers

(WKTV) - It may have been humid on Monday, but more than 220 golfers took to the links for the 19th Annual St. Elizabeth Medical Center Foundation Golf Tournament.

The fundraiser for the hospital raises money to go toward patient room upgrades. Monday's guest of honor was Syracuse University assistant men's basketball coach Mike Hopkins, who played in the Beat the Celebrity contest. Those who could outdrive the coach were entered to win prizes.

"This year, we are using the money to upgrade the rooms at the medical center and updating the security and installing a badge-swipe system," said Andrea LaGatta of St. Elizabeth's Medical Center.

There were other drawings along the course, including a New York City weekend escape package that featured Yankee tickets.
