'Start Up New York' initiative officially launches

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - Gov. Andrew Cuomo officially launched "Start Up New York" on Wednesday.

The initiative creates tax-free zones to attract and grow businesses. One of those zones is in the area of SUNY IT.

Hundreds of business leaders and CEOs gathered today for the launch in New York City, including Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi. Brindisi says the new initiative goes well with the Nano Utica effort.

"The time is now to link potential companies and industries with our SUNY asset in the Utica-Rome region," Brindisi said in a statement.
