State Police confident remains found in Whitestown are that of missing woman

WHITESTOWN, N.Y. (WKTV) - State Police are confident the the remains found last month in Whitestown are that of Laura Pickard.

The Eagle Valley Search Dogs found bones in a wooded area off the Barge Canal. Pickard went missing in March, the same day as the Heart Run and Walk.

Captain Franc Coots of the State Police says there doesn't appear to be any trauma to the remains. The bones were sent to the State Police lab in Albany, and official results could take a very long time.

However, troopers said despite that, they are confident in identifying the remains as Laura Pickard.
