ONEIDA, MADISON COUNTIES, N.Y. (WKTV) - The state budget will increase funding for Oneida and Madison counties to make up for the shortfall from the Oneida Indian Nation not paying real property taxes.

A total of $3 million was set aside to make up for the shortfalls.

$1.5 million goes to each county.

Last year, each county was allotted $1 million.

The year before that, each county got $980,000.
