Still no Herkimer County charges for Fort Drum soldier

By WKTV News

TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Fort Drum soldier who was the subject of a two-day manhunt following his escape from military custody has yet to face charges in Herkimer County.

Arrest warrants have been lodged in Herkimer County against Russell Marcum for crimes committed during the manhunt, including the theft of a car from West Winfield that Marcum is accused of.

However, officials with the New York State Police say he's currently in custody in Tompkins County and has not been arrested on local charges of burglary or weapons possession.

It is possible those could be bundled with charges Marcum faces in Tompkins County.
