UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Thousands of music lovers were rocking out to three popular bands Tuesday night.

Sublime with Rome, Pennywise and Julian Marley (son of reggae legend Bob Marley) took the stage during the very first concert of Saranac's Summer Concert Series.

Organizers said the concert drew a crowd of about 2,500 people .

Many of those in attendance are hardcore fans.

Greg Allis of Syracuse has been a fan of Sublime since the 90s.

"I was about 16 and working in a record store when 40oz of Freedom came out," he said.

Mark Dangler of Waterville is a such a big Pennywise fan that he made sure he was sporting the band's shirt for the show.

"There's three awesome bands down here that never get to tour this area," said Dangler. "Usually it's in Albany or Syracuse or Buffalo, and we would drive there, but it's in Utica. So, we're absolutely here, no doubt."
