'Suspicious Person' on campus prompts morning lockdown at Holland Patent

By NEWSChannel 2 Staff

HOLLAND PATENT, N.Y. (WKTV) - Holland Patent Central School was placed on a lockdown Tuesday morning after a suspicious person was seen on the school property, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office stated.

The Sheriff's Department was assessing the situation, but was only saying that the school was on lockdown simply as a precautionary measure.

Late Tuesday afternoon, Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol said that no arrests had been made and that the incident was "a non-criminal matter."

Sheriff Maciol referred further questions to Holland Patent Central School Superintendent Kathy Davis, who could not be reached at the District Office late Tuesday for further details.
