Sweeps are back in the City of Utica

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri and his department heads held the first quality of life sweep for the season, Wednesday.
Beginning now, the Mayor and certain department heads, including the police and fire chiefs will pick a neighborhood to evaluate, look for codes violations and just listen to people's concerns, every week.
Wednesday's trek started on Genesee and Hopper, and ended at Oneida Square.
"Meeting the residents, meeting the business owners, keeping it clean, keeping it safe, just bringing it back and bringing hope back to people," said Mayor Palmieri.

The quality of life sweeps take place every Wednesday through December, starting at noon.
