TSA approves "pre-check" program for Hancock Int'l Airport

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WKTV) - A new program was approved that will allow for faster air travel through Syracuse, Wednesday.

U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer announced that the TSA approved its "pre-check" program for Hancock International Airport.

The approval means that residents of Syracuse, Utica, Rome, and other local cities can undergo a background check, so that once they get to the airport, they can skip the long security lines.

The Head of the Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce said that the new "Fast Lane," will be a positive, not only for convenience but for business as well.

The TSA is currently working on an online application, where people can complete the form immediately on their own computers.

However, as of right now, you may contact Senator Schumer's Central New York office for more details on how to sign up at (315) 423-5471.
