Take 25 initiative stressing safety for family and children
NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - Parents and children visited Sangertown Square on Monday to learn more about the Take 25 initiative.
Take 25 is a program initiated by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Wendy Fical, the Program Director says that you should be taking 25 minutes each day to talk to your kids about personal and internet safety.
Monday and Tuesday at the mall, a Stranger-Danger talk will be held, along with informational sessions on the Yellow Dot Program and ID kits.
Fical says they want to stress to families the rules every child should know.
"Four rules of safety are check first, take a friend, it's okay to say no and talk to a trusted adult," Fical said.
Volunteers from the Oneida County Sheriff's Office will be at Sangertown Square on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
