"Take Back The Day" honors victims of Mohawk Valley shootings

HERKIMER COUNTY, N.Y. (WKTV) - A community healing event was held Saturday in the Mohawk Valley to honor the victims of the events of March 13, when four men and a K-9 were shot and killed.

A group walked in unity, going to the locations involved in the tragedy, starting at Weller's Park in Mohawk.

The group went to the shooter's apartment on South Washington Street in honor of the renters that were displaced following a fire.

Wreath's were then placed at John's Barbor Shop and Gaffey's where the shootings took place, where two men died at each location. Then the group stopped at Glory Days in Herkimer, where the FBI K-9 Ape was shot and killed.
