(WKTV) - A 16-year-old Plymouth boy was charged with felony aggravated driving while intoxicated after Chenango County Sheriff's Office say he drove through a road check with a 3-year-old in his car.
The teen, whose name was not released by officials, drove through a road safety check in Oxford around 2 p.m. Monday. A 3-year-old passenger was in the backseat of the vehicle without a proper child safety seat, officials say.
After an investigation, the teen was arrested on charges of driving while ability impaired by drugs, felony aggravated driving while intoxicated under Leandra's law for having a child under the age of 15 in the car and endangering the welfare of a child. He was also issued a traffic citation for having a backseat passenger under the age of 4 in an improper restraint.
The boy was arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court and send to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $100 cash bail.
