Teen charged after armed standoff in Frankfort with police

FRANKFORT, N.Y. (WKTV) - A 17 year old is facing charges after a standoff with Village of Frankfort Police and other law enforcement agencies.

On March 11, 2011 the village officers responded to a report of an irate individual who was armed. The male teen was soon located on Main Street with the assistance of the public and was found to be holding two knives and a pistol, which was found later to be a BB gun.

After discussions with the male, he put the weapons down and was placed into custody.

New York State Police, Village of Ilion Police and Herkimer County Sheriff's assisted at the scene.

The 17 year-old male, whose name has not been released due to his age, was charged with second-degree menacing and later released to his parents to appear in Village Court at a later date.
