Tenney feeling confident heading into primary

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - Claudia Tenney, who is seeking Richard Hanna's 22nd Congressional District seat, is feeling confident heading into Tuesday's primary election.

Tenney is running her campaign touting herself as a longtime local business owner and adds that she is a top conservative in the state who has never voted to raise taxes. She did a tour of the entire district yesterday.

"I feel really good about it right now," Tenney said. "All of a sudden things have really turned around in the coming weeks in spite of the $2 million being spent in negative ads. I think people are starting to see through it. They're having overload -- I know I have overload. I couldn't wait until yesterday, because it was not a mail day."

Polls Tuesday are open noon to 9 p.m. Tenney is not on any other line, and no Democrat has announced, meaning the primary could decide the race.
