Tenth Annual Halfway Hooley brings Irish heritage to life in CNY

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - Hundreds of locals came out to the Harts Hill Inn to celebrate the Halfway to the Great American Irish Festival Hooley, Sunday.

The Hooley served as a way to prepare for the upcoming Irish Fest later this year, by announcing the headliners that will be on stage at the event, as well as the Grand Marshal for this year's parade.

The lucky person is Sister Maureen Denn.

"Today we have Irish bands, music, and we'll announce entertainment for the Irish Festival, which is the last weekend of July," said Denn, the newly appointed St. Patrick's Day parade Grand Marshal. "You know when the Irish get together we always have a good time, so whether or not there's anything special, when we get together we know how to rejoice."

Sunday was the 10th Annual Halfway Hooley.
