Tenth Annual Polar snowmobile run takes place in Cedarville

By WKTV News

CEDARVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV) - A group of Central New Yorkers defied the weather, riding snowmobiles wearing nothing but bathing suits, Saturday.

The family in Cedarville has been doing the "polar snowmobile run" for 10 years in the fields in their backyard.

It began as a family tradition that quickly became a community event.

"People go swimming in the winter, so why not do something different?" asked participant, Howard Chapple. "And we love snowmobiling."

The family hopes that next year the ride will also serve as a fundraiser for a local humane society.
