Third Annual Patriot Run honors Flag Day with big turnout

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - People in Rome participated in a 5k, 10k, and pole dedication at Griffiss, Saturday, in honor of Flag Day.
It was the 3rd Annual Patriot Run Race, and it began at the Franklin Bellamy Grave site at the Rome Cemetery before ending at Griffiss.
The race has grown exponentially in popularity over the past three years as the number of participants have tripled in size.
In addition to the run, many awards were given out.
"The awards we do top overall male and female for run/walk for 2 runs 5k and 10k," said Road Runners VP. Kevin Sutton. "And we did top three in 10-year age groups, they will get one for 5k and 10k."

Multiple fallen heroes were also honored at the event.
