Three accused of firing shotgun in Utica yard
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Three men have been charged after police say they fired a shotgun in a yard in Utica.
Around 2:30 a.m. Monday morning, officers responded to Green Street in Utica for reports of multiple shots being fired. When they arrived on the scene, officers spoke with witnesses who said they heard several shots fired in the yard of one of the homes.
Police say they learned that three men (James Schiess, 23; Billie Jo Shaver, 20; and Kyle Leonard, 31, all of Utica) allegedly fired a shotgun in a yard on Green Street, in the direction of Schuyler Street.
Officers say they located a shotgun and ten spent rounds as well as two empty shotgun shell boxes.
It is unknown if the men were shooting at someone or something, police said.
All three men have been charged with reckless endangerment, while Schiess was additionally charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
