Three arrested for stealing scrap metal in Lewis County

GRIEG, N.Y. (WKTV) - Three Lowville men were arrested Friday for their alleged involvement in camp break-ins in the Town of Grieg.

According to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office, 28-year-old Jeffrey Stewart Jr., 22-year-old Jacob Farney and 23-year-old Darick Brand broke into tow camps and a shed on Steam Mill Road on Friday and took scrap metal from both.

The men were found by police a short time after with the scrap metal in a truck.

The three were charged with burglary and criminal mischief and were sent to the Lewis County Jail.
