Three charged after elder abuse investigation in Utica

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Three people have been charged after an investigation into elder abuse.
According to the Utica Police Department, Investigators were notified of a possible elder abuse case back in August. The complaint was that someone used the credit card of an elderly couple to purchase thousands of dollars worth of items.
Police said the investigator was assisted by the Office for the Aging Elder Abuse Coalition Program Coordinator, and as a result of the investigation, the following people were charged:
*Jodi Golden, 44, of Newport, charged with third-degree grand larceny
*Jonathan V. Evans, 27, of Utica, charged with second-degree forgery
*Ashley M. Balandis, 23, of Rome, charged with second-degree forgery
