(WKTV) - Three people are charged in connection with an armed robbery in the Town of New Berlin, Chenango County officials say.

Raymond H. Sittery Jr., 37, of the Town of Norwich, Lacey-Jane Zinkham, 18, from the Town of Norwich, and Marissa D. Deforest, 26, who is homeless, are charged with robbery in the second degree.

According to officials, around 3 a.m. Saturday, a man was sitting in the backseat of a parked car when a man approached the vehicle, pointed a shotgun in his face and demanded money. After throwing money out the window, a woman allegedly pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded more money. The victim was able to escape and call 911. The sheriff's office recovered several hundred dollars in cash from the road and the handgun, which was later determined to be a BB gun.

The three were sent to the Chenango County Correctional Facility. The investigation is ongoing and appears to be a drug-related crime.
