By WKTV News

HERKIMER COUNTY, N.Y. (WKTV) - Three individuals have been charged in connection to more than a dozen residential burglaries in Herkimer County over the past two weeks.

According to New York State Police, Gregory W. Godlewski, 20, of Ilion; Tristan A. Hall, 19, of Ilion; and Shana L. Harrod, 19, of Mohawk have all been charged with second-degree burglary, which is a Class C Felony.

State Police say the trio are responsible for committing approximately 15 residential burglaries in Herkimer County over the span of the past two weeks. Authorities said a majority of the burglaries occurred in Southern Herkimer County with money, collectors coins, electronics, and other personal items being stolen. In the last burglary committed, authorities said an elderly female was confronted inside her home and her pocketbook was stolen.

The three individuals were identified when an alert employee at the Hannaford Supermarket in the Village of Herkimer noticed these three depositing coins into the Coinstar machine on more than one occasion and recorded their license plate number as they left the store.

As part of the investigation, and knowing that a large amount of coins had been taken during the course of some of the burglaries, authorities alerted various businesses to keep an eye out for people trying to unload large amounts of coins.

Godlewski and Hall were arraigned in the Town of Herkimer Court and remanded to the Herkimer County Jail on $50,000 cash / $100,000 bail bond.

Harrod was arraigned in the Town of German Flatts Court and remanded to the Herkimer County Jail on $50,000 cash / $100,000 bail bond.
