UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A foot chase that began on the New York State Thruway, ended with three drug arrests in Utica. It started when a Hyundai Sonata drove through the toll booth at Exit 31 in Utica.

State Police were monitoring for cell phone use when they saw an occupant of the vehicle with an open container of alcohol. Troopers started talking to the driver Tyler Langley, 19, of Watertown, when they smelled marijuana. Police started to question both passengers. Officials say both Elijah Johnson of Rome and Shamel Greene of Utica provided false names to the trooper. Greene got out of the car and took off running. After a short chase Greene was taken into custody. Langley is charged with criminal possession of marijuana. Johnson is charged with false personation, open container and criminal possession of marijuana. Greene is charged with resisting arrest, false personation and criminal possession of marijuana.
