Three injured after head-on collision

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Two cars were involved in a head-on collision on River Road in Utica Tuesday that sent two children to the hospital and ended with one of the drivers being taken away in handcuffs.

The accident happened just after 2 pm. Police said a vehicle, driven by Laura Bush, crossed over the center line and hit another car which was driven by Bethany Failing. Both cars were destroyed.

Bush had a three year old in the car with her and Failing had a one and a half year old in the car. Both children along with Failing were transported to St. Luke's Hospital for minor injuries.

Utica police say tickets will be issued for the accident.

Bush was arrested at the scene on an outstanding warrant. Police did not specify what that outstanding warrant was for.
