Tiger Woods and company raise $500,000 for Notah Begay Foundation

VERNON, N.Y. (WKTV) - Tiger Woods and Notah Begay led their team to victory Wednesday in the Notah Begay III Foundation Challenge. The teams were divided into West and East.

The event benefits the Notah Begay Foundation, of course named after the player himself. The charity works to help reduce childhood obesity and diabetes.

Notah invited several PGA stars to play in the event. In addition to Tiger, the field included Americans Rickie Fowler, Cristie Kerr and Lexi Thompson playing for the West team.

Cristie Kerr was on the winning team for the third time this year.

This was Lexi Thompson's first visit to Atunyote as a newcomer to the LPGA. When asked about the local course, she said, "It was a great golf course, such peer shape. I mean the greens were rolling so nice and so fast too. I would barely tap my putts and they would get there."

At the end of the event, a check for $500,000 was presented to the foundation
